I keep reading about GMOs/GEs (specifically glyphosate herbicide which is injected into the food) causing rising IBS and other gastrointestinal issues in Americans because our food supply has more GMO's than any country. Other countries like Russia and Peru ban them to protect their citizens. It's almost impossible to go to a restaurant in the USA and not eat GMO's or GE's. Even the canola cooking oil is usually genetically engineered. I'm specifically concerned with the gmo/ge food that has glyphosate injected into its DNA, but also just the use of glyphosate etc in spraying crops. One theory I read is that the glyphosate ( herbicide) destroys good bacteria and the bad bacteria proliferates. My take away is eat everything organic as part of one's strategy to help improve your gut health. Does anyone have new information on GMO/GE's and gut health and how they could be affecting gut health? Also is Atrantil non GMO / no GE including the capsule? Thanks! Lisa
