Thank you for your question. We do not recommend taking probiotics while taking Atrantil, however, eating foods like yogurt or kefir are perfectly fine.
Atrantil works to get rid of the overgrowth of bacteria in the small bowel, which should be a relatively sterile environment. Probiotics are live culture bacteria, which mean that enteric coated probiotics have the potential to deliver the bacteria into the small bowel, causing adverse symptoms. Adding more bacteria to the small bowel can complicate bloating or SIBO issues.
Non-enteric coated probiotics are not the same as enteric coated. For example, yogurt and kefir would be fine because they are subject to the stomach first, in which they can be broken down before going into the small intestine. We hope this helps answer your question. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Thank you and best wishes,
